Browser-side processing

Many SmartToolsNest utilities process files and entered content directly in your browser. When a tool states “No uploads” or “browser-side,” that tool does not send the working file to our application server for processing.

Privacy-conscious analytics

We count aggregate engaged tool views, directory searches, and selected tool actions to understand which utilities are useful. A tool view is sent only after its browser tab has remained visible for at least 2.5 seconds. Known crawlers, preview requests, prefetch requests, respected browser privacy signals, and signed-in administrator activity are excluded. To avoid repeated counting from the same connection, the server converts the request IP address into a one-way salted hash. The raw IP is not written to the analytics tables, the salt changes daily, and event fingerprints are automatically removed after 90 days. People sharing one public IP may therefore count as one unique visitor for the same tool or action during that day. No automated filter can guarantee that every remaining request came from a person.

Accounts, contact, and newsletter

Information voluntarily submitted through account or contact features may be used to provide the requested service, respond to messages, maintain security, and meet legal obligations. Newsletter email addresses are stored so requested SmartToolsNest updates can be delivered.

Advertising, Google AdSense & Cookies

SmartToolsNest may display clearly labelled direct sponsorships or use third-party advertising services, including Google AdSense, to display advertisements if those services are enabled. Direct sponsor links may be counted when clicked.

Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on a visitor’s prior visits to SmartToolsNest or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve ads based on visits to SmartToolsNest and/or other websites.

Advertising partners may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, device information, or similar technologies to deliver advertisements, measure advertising performance, prevent fraud and abuse, limit repeated ads, and—where permitted by law and consented to by the visitor—personalize advertisements.

SmartToolsNest does not directly control cookies or similar technologies placed by third-party advertising providers. Visitors can control, block, or delete cookies through their browser settings, although doing so may affect some website features.

Visitors can manage or opt out of personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings. More information about how Google uses information from websites and apps that use Google services is available in Google’s Privacy & Terms resources.

Additional information about cookies and available choices is provided in our Cookie Policy.

Consent for Visitors from the EEA, UK and Switzerland

Where required by applicable law, SmartToolsNest will request consent before using cookies or processing personal data for personalized advertising.

If advertising services are enabled, SmartToolsNest may use a consent management platform (CMP) that allows visitors to accept, reject, or manage applicable advertising and privacy choices. The choices presented may depend on the visitor’s location, the advertising services in use, and applicable legal requirements.

Retention and security

We aim to retain personal information only as long as needed for its stated purpose. No system is completely secure, but we use reasonable safeguards and minimize server-side processing where practical.
