Use a unique password for every account

Long, random passwords resist guessing and credential stuffing. Store them in a reputable password manager, enable multi-factor authentication, and never reuse passwords across services.

What is Password Generator?

Password Generator uses the browser cryptography API to create unpredictable credentials from selected character groups. People can adjust length, avoid ambiguous symbols, or produce a batch for separate test accounts without relying on names, dates, or reusable keyboard patterns.

How to use Password Generator

  1. 1.Choose a password length that the destination service accepts.
  2. 2.Enable uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols as required, then set any exclusions.
  3. 3.Generate one or more candidates and review the displayed strength or entropy estimate.
  4. 4.Copy one password directly into a trusted password manager instead of saving it in plain text.

Key features

  • ✓Cryptographically secure browser randomness avoids predictable pseudo-random sequences.
  • ✓Length and character-group controls adapt output to different service policies.
  • ✓Ambiguous-character exclusion helps when a credential must be read or transcribed.
  • ✓Batch generation supports separate temporary accounts without reusing one password.
  • ✓Local generation keeps produced values out of an application database.

Common use cases

  • Create a unique credential for a newly registered account.
  • Generate temporary secrets for isolated development test users.
  • Replace a reused password during an account-security review.
  • Produce a Wi-Fi password that can later be shared through a QR code.

Frequently asked questions

How long should a strong password be?

Use the longest unique password the service reasonably accepts; twenty random characters is a strong general default when no stricter policy applies.

Are generated passwords stored or sent to a server?

Generation uses the browser Web Crypto API, and the page does not need to save generated values in a database. Copy the result into a trusted password manager.

Should a password include symbols and numbers?

More allowed character types enlarge the possible search space, but length, randomness, and uniqueness matter more than predictable substitutions.

Is the entropy estimate a guarantee that a password is safe?

No. It estimates the random search space under stated assumptions; account security also depends on uniqueness, secure storage, rate limits, and multi-factor authentication.

Why would I exclude ambiguous characters?

Removing characters such as O, 0, l, 1, and I reduces transcription mistakes, although it slightly reduces the available character pool.
