This unit price calculator reduces both products to one comparable unit, applies optional discounts, identifies the cheaper option and estimates the difference. Use it for food, cleaning products, toiletries, pet supplies, building materials and multipacks.
Unit price formula
Final price = listed price minus discount. Unit price = final price divided by total package quantity. The product with the lower result costs less for the same amount.
Normalize before comparing
Both quantities must represent the same unit. Convert kilograms to grams or litres to millilitres before comparing. For a 6-pack of 330 ml cans, the total is 1,980 ml.
Price is not the only value factor
A low unit price only saves money if the item suits your needs and gets used. Consider quality, nutrition, storage space, expiry dates and waste before choosing a bulk package.
